If you are in Boundary county it's always a good idea to stop by Ball Lakes. All through the days of summer highs here at Ball Lakes reach the 80's, and all through summer nights temperatures are in the 50's. The winter brings highs down to the 30's while the cold winter nights at Ball Lakes are in the 10's. Ball Lakes gets very little rain; during November this area sees the most rain, and July is the month with the least moisture. This lake is so wonderful.

some wonderful whitewater, and you can make out Long Mountain from Ball Lakes. Dry warm beds await you at Schweitzer Mountain Resort, and if you need a site to stay Best Western Kootenai River Inn & Casino is a wonderful choice.
The skiing at Schweitzer is great, and Pyramid Pass is nearby, and is a delightful place. Lakes? Sure, Long Mountain Lake is nearby, and if you came to camp Dirt Oven Campground is a glorious spot to do that.
