It may be said that this part of Weitas Creek is a place for fun kayak paddling. Near Bald Mountain Lake is a splendid 9-mile-in-length segment of whitewater on Lochsa River, a category III-IV, this is the Wilderness Gateway bridge to Split Creek Pack Bridge sector.
    Raft paddlers on this segment of Lochsa River should boast some know-how in whitewater rafting and kayaking. Whitewater rapids are risky things, so you should check current conditions ahead of going.
