Why not stop by Artillery Lake if you're passing through these parts. This lake is located in the wonderful Salmon River Mountains. This place, Artillery Lake, it just has so much outdoors enjoyable stuff. If you come at the right time of year, Rapid River offers some splendid whitewater, and hiking along the Prospect Creek Trail is brilliant fun. | | a year January is the one with the most snow while July is usually the driest month. This lake is so wonderful. The peak of Artillery Dome can be spotted from Artillery Lake, and lakes are such serene places, why not have a look at Cutthroat Lake. Through the summer at Artillery Lake highs are frequently in the 70's while overnight lows are frequently in the 30's. the winter temperatures at Artillery Lake fall into the 0's. If you like skiing, you're in luck; Brundage Mountain is near Artillery Lake, and Artillery Lake is right by the Garden Creek Trail. That right there is lots of cool
things already but it goes on, the Salmon River Mountains has it all. Whitewater paddling is not for everybody but if it's for you then we recommend Salmon River - Middle Fork, and you'll hit upon a charming lake called Buck Lake.
This lake is so wonderful. The Big Baldy Ridge Trail offers hiking at its best, and why not camp at Sheepeater Hot Springs Campground if you're here at Artillery Lake. Be careful coming to the Salmon River Mountains, you might
not ever want to go home again. A quick tour to Grenade Creek next to Artillery Lake is a good idea; if you came for an overnight stay Velvet Falls Campground is a brilliant site to camp.
