A common amount of rain falls here at Artillery Lake; the month of January is the wettest with most of the snow while July is regularly the driest month. All the outdoors exciting things in the Salmon River Mountains will keep you coming back over and over. Camping is available at Sheepeater Hot Springs Campground, and you can have a good hiking adventure along the Garden Creek Trail. This lake is so wonderful. The       skiing at Brundage Mountain is tremendous, and a brilliant place for whitewater paddling is Salmon River - Middle Fork. Artillery Lake is located in the Salmon River Mountains. Going for a hike along the Prospect Creek Trail will let you absorb the natural beauty of this area, and get your heart pumping on the perfect whitewater of Rapid River. Not enough hours in a day to enjoy the Salmon River Mountains. If you came for an overnight stay Velvet Falls                  Campground is a great location to camp; let's not forget Grenade Creek which is a stream that you may encounter while you're here. High temperatures at Artillery Lake throughout the summer months are in the 70's with overnight lows in the 30's. Highs through the wintertime are usually in the 30's while the cold winter nights at Artillery Lake are in the 0's. Just can't get enough of Artillery Lake.
