A visit to Anns Lake is always a good idea. Anns Lake is pretty dried up ordinarily; May is when you get the most rain here; the driest month is July. Summertime highs at Anns Lake commonly tend to be in the 90's. Summer nighttime lows plunge down to the 50's. The winter comes with highs in the 40's with winter lows in the 20's overnight here at Anns Lake. This lake is so wonderful. Just can't get enough of the Salmon River Mountains. panorama of Diamond Rock from Anns Lake; you can go for a hike on the Crestline Trail. And that's not all the things you can do here in the Salmon River Mountains. After a long day outdoors Mccall Super 8 Lodge is a great site to spend a night or two, and get your pulse rate up on the great whitewater of Secesh River.

Miners Peak Trail
 | 18 miles away The trail has not been maintained. I was able to hike it easily to the top 2 or 3 years ago. Not today...It was overgrown a lot and substantial deadfall. There are some burned spots also. That said, it's beautiful and a rigorous hike. Wear pants as the twigs will scratch you, and take insect repellant. Check your body for ticks also. The lookout is cool.... |
