Summertime highs at Alligator Lake frequently tend to be in the 70's. Summer nighttime lows drop down to the 40's. During the wintertime the highs are typically in the 20's, and overnight lows at Alligator Lake all through the wintertime frequently dip into the 0's. Alligator Lake is pretty waterless frequently; through the month       of May you get the most rain around here, and March is when it's the driest. Some of the water close by flows, like North Fork Mahogany Creek. The DeCoster Trail is a pleasant hiking trail near Alligator Lake, and the snow is brilliant at Grand Targhee. All the outdoors fun stuff next to Alligator Lake will keep you coming back many times. While you're here at Alligator Lake you can take a hike along the Carlton Cutoff Trail, and Alligator Lake is a great                  place to visit for more than one day, Pine Creek Campground is a great place to camp nearby. This lake is so wonderful. Alligator Lake is not the only place nearby, Lizard Lake is a nearby lake, and on a great day you can take a hike along the De Coster Trail. This lake is so wonderful. Teton Mountain View Lodge is a tremendous place to get some rest, as expected you could also stop at Castle Lake since you're here; it's not far at all. Dry warm beds await you at Super 8 Driggs; there are some magnificent whitewater spots on Pine Creek. A visit to Buttermilk Draw is always fun.
