The Bitterroot Range scenery is always beautiful. Around Allan Lake you don’t get a lot of rain; the wettest month of the year is regularly May, that's the one that rains the most, and July is the month with the least moisture. Summertime brings highs in the 80's to Allan Lake. For the duration of the dark hours of summer temperatures descend down into the 40's. During the wintertime highs are typically in the 30's, and after the       sun is down through the wintertime temperatures at Allan Lake plunge into the 10's. Very charming scenery and magnificent skiing is what you get at Lost Trail, and the Ax Park Way offers hiking at its best. The summit of Allan Mountain can be observed from Allan Lake. This lake is so wonderful. Camping at Twin Creek Campground is always a brilliant experience, and do take a hike on the Big Hole National Recreation Trail. That right there is plenty of                  enjoyable things already but it goes on, the Bitterroot Range has it all.
