Throughout the long summer days here at Airplane Lake, high temperatures ordinarily reach the 80's with overnight lows in the 40's. The winter comes with highs in the 20's with temperatures at Airplane Lake dipping down into the 0's through winter nights. Have a tremendous hiking adventure along the Ship Island Trail, and this is a fine location in the shadow of the Bighorn Crags.       But wait, there's more exciting stuff to do in the Salmon River Mountains. While you're here at Airplane Lake you can take a hike along the Waterfall Trail. It is very dried out here at Airplane Lake regularly; during the month of June you get the most rain around here, and February on the other hand is the driest. Not enough hours in a day to enjoy this place. Why not camp at Crags Campground if you're here at Airplane Lake, and there's whitewater on Camas                  Creek for all you adrenaline people. This lake is so wonderful. Camping is available at Yellowjacket Campground, and Heart Lake is a nearby lake that you could visit. Having a good time in the Salmon River Mountains is trouble-free. If you get bored of Airplane Lake, you could also take a look at nearby Terrace Lakes, and on a brilliant day you can take a hike along the Clear Creek Trail. This lake is one of the great places here in the Salmon River Mountains.
