Near Lake Wilderness you locate the Shimek Forest Trail which is a fine hiking trail, and Lake Wilderness is good enough to spend more than a day at, Lake wilderness Camping is a good local campground. Lake Wilderness is a spot with many visitors from Keokuk-Fort Madison, and a pleasant site to camp here at Lake Wilderness is Wally World Campground.
