If you like lakes and you're in this part of Iowa you can check out Upper Y Lake. Cavanaugh Bottom is a great place to take a look at while in the vicinity, and for you golfers we recommend close by Palisades Golf Course. Upper Y Lake is a great site to camp, Lakewood Resort is a great site, and why not head up to Chestnut Mountain and strap some skis to your feet.

| | temperatures at Upper Y Lake all through the summertime months are in the 80's, and throughout the night it cools down to the 60's. The winter comes with highs in the 20's, and winter nights come with lows in the 0's to Upper Y Lake. This lake is so wonderful. A day at lovely Santa Fe Beach near Upper Y Lake is a pleasant thing to do, and while you're here you can take a hike along the Jackson County Recreational Trail.

Rock Nature Trail is a magnificent hiking trail close to Upper Y Lake, and while you're here, do take a tour to Sheepshead Bay. A splendid close by hotel is Radke Hotel, and on a pleasant day you can take a hike along the River Route
Nature Trail. This is no site for people who don’t like to enjoy themselves. This is a great area for people who like lakes. Alligator Lake is a lake in the neighborhood, and if you need a spot to stay Indian Head Motel is a wonderful
choice.
From a precipitation point of view Upper Y Lake is a rather typical spot; through the month of June you get the most rain around here while January is the month with the least amount of precipitation.
