You really need to get out, eat, and take a nice walk!...This campground has been closed.? There is now new ownership and it is called Scales Bend.? It is much cleaner than it used to be, the boat ''junk yard'' is gone and the pool is no more.? Lake McBride
 | I have only been at Lake McBride once but I am definitely going back. We have plans in the works to make a day of it in the very near future. The first time was such a pleasant experience that we can't wait to spend more time there....I absolutly love this lake the fishing is good the water is clean and the beach is a nice place to cool off! My kids love it and the boating is relaxing nice and slow no confusion. And there are plenty of facilities if you're out in the boat if your kids or wife need to use the bathroom! And I highly recommend renting a pontoon boat from the livery for at least an hour. It is fun!... |

Cedar River
 | 13 miles away I drove there from Colorado because i heard there was a whitewater park built here, but didn't find one. It looked like there could be a wave there at some point but no eddy service. Is it possible I went to the wrong place? I went to Palisades-Kepler state park, at the bottom of the hill at the river, it was a wide open flat river with a low head dam that had been partially removed with a small rapid in it but nothing i could really play on. Is there another one somewhere else in Iowa that is running right now?... |
