Smith Lake gets a normal amount of rainfall; June is the month that gets the most rain while January is the month with the least amount of precipitation. Smith Lake is good enough to spend more than a day at, Loess Hills Hideaway Cabins is a good local campground, and if you're here you can take a hike along the Desoto Bend Trail. This lake is so wonderful. After a long day outdoors Days Inn Missouri Valley is       a good location to spend a night or two, and dry warm beds await you at Oak Tree Inn Missouri Valley. All through the warm days of summer at Smith Lake temperatures are regularly in the 80's, and the nighttime is rather chillier of course, mostly in the 60's. High temperatures through the wintertime are normally in the 30's while the cold winter nights at Smith Lake are in the 0's.
