You'll never forgive yourself if you don’t go skiing at Sundown Mountain if you're here, and at Mud Lake you always meet someone from Dubuque. Mud Lake gets a normal amount of yearly rain; of all the months in a year August is the one with the most rain; January is when it's the driest. After a long day outdoors Super 8 - Dubuque is a great place to spend a night or two, and if you       come at the right time of year, Little Platte River offers some brilliant whitewater. Grand Harbor Resort & Waterpark is a good place to get some rest. There's so much to do here at Mud Lake that you need to camp here for a while, Dubuque Yacht Basin and RV Park is a perfect location for that. Take a little tour to Leisure Creek while you're here at Mud Lake; if you came to camp Rustic Barn Campground is a perfect site to do that. Summer at Mud Lake comes with                  high temperatures in the 80's. Summer night lows sink down to the 60's. Daytime highs all through the winter are in the 20's; throughout the dark hours in the wintertime at Mud Lake temperatures descend to the 0's.
