Little Platte River is a glorious whitewater spot in the neighborhood of Mud Lake; Holiday Inn Express Hotel & Suites DUBUQUE EAST-GALENA is a perfect place to get some rest. This lake is so wonderful. Mud Lake is perfect enough to spend more than a day at, Dubuque Yacht Basin and RV Park is a perfect local campground; during your trip here you'll meet some people from       Dubuque for sure. The best way to spend a winter day is on the slopes of close by Sundown Mountain, and a nice close by hotel is Grand Harbor Resort & Waterpark. At Mud Lake during the long summer days highs are in the 80's. Once the sun is down it descends down to the 60's. The cold days of the winter come with highs in the 20's, and night lows in the 0's for Mud Lake. Mud Lake gets a common amount of rain; of all the months in a year August is the one with                  the most rain, and January on the other hand is the driest.
