This place, McFarland Lake, it absolutely has so much outdoors cool stuff. McFarland Lake is a good place of common precipitation; of all the months in a year June is the one with the most rain, and the driest month is January. This lake is so wonderful. There's so much to do here at McFarland Lake that you need to camp here for a while, Story City Koa Kampground is a fine place for that, and folks from       Ames love to come here. If you need a spot to stay Holiday Inn Express Hotel & Suites Ames, Ia is a tremendous choice, and if you're here you can play some golf at Oaks Public Golf Course. Throughout the warm months at McFarland Lake highs are commonly in the 80's. Summer nighttime lows sink down to the 60's. For the period of the winter highs are in the 20's, and through the dark hours in the winter at McFarland Lake temperatures descend to the 0's. Stay                  the night at Whispering Oaks Campground, and don't forget to take a great little visit to Bear Creek.
