If you came for an overnight stay West Liberty Koa Kampground is a fine site to camp, and there is a great hiking trail close by called the Sockum Ridge Park Trail. This lake is so wonderful. Why not camp at Maple Lane RV Campground while you're here at Long Lake, and after a long day outdoors Alexis Park Inn and Suites is a nice site to spend a night or two. For the period of the       warmest time of the year highs here at Long Lake reach the 80's. For the period of the dark hours of summer temperatures plunge down into the 60's. The cold days of the wintertime come with highs in the 20's while Long Lake night low temperatures throughout the wintertime are in the 10's. Riverside Casino & Golf Resort is a tremendous spot to get some rest, and Long Lake is not far at all from Muscatine. Not far from Long Lake, you'll stumble on Big Lake                  which is a pretty lake, and needless to say Goose Creek flows through this area. A normal amount of precipitation falls here at Long Lake; the wettest month of the year is ordinarily July, that's the one that rains the most; February is the month with the least moisture.
