An average amount of precipitation falls at Lake Nokomis; the wettest month of the year is commonly June, that's the one that rains the most while January is the month with the least amount of precipitation. This lake is so wonderful. If you're a golfer then a glorious nearby course is Deer Creek Golf Club, and there are other locations here than Lake Nokomis, for example Bass Lake. Whohoo, so much exciting stuff in       one place! Lake Nokomis is peerless! If you come at the right time of year, Des Moines River offers some good whitewater; not far from Lake Nokomis you get some glorious water scenery at Joe Reasoner Dam. Lake Nokomis is a site with many visitors from Fort Dodge; lakes are such serene places, why not pop by Badger Lake. Whitewater paddling is not for everybody but if it's for you then we recommend Soldiers Creek, and dry warm beds await you at Humboldt Super                  8 Motel. Stay the night at Grotto of the Redemption Campground. Smith Lake Park is a fine campground nearby; if you need a place to stay Best Western Starlite Village is a brilliant choice. Summertime brings highs in the 80's to Lake Nokomis. For the period of the dark hours of summer temperatures sink down into the 60's.
