Now, you may imagine that's plenty but there's even more enjoyable stuff to do here at Horse Shoe Lake. There's so much to do here at Horse Shoe Lake that you need to camp here for a while, Midwest Old Threshers Campground is a perfect place for that, and do take a hike on the Jefferson County Park Trail. Horse Shoe Lake is a good site of common rainfall; the month with most of the rain is July, and February       is when it's the driest. This lake is so wonderful. You'll need more than a day to discover everything Horse Shoe Lake has to offer, you can camp at Morris Park Campgrounds; if you've had enough of Horse Shoe Lake, Horseshoe Lake is close by. A glorious close by hotel is Mt. Pleasant Super 8 Motel; why not take a refreshing hike along the Kewash Nature Trail. Horse Shoe Lake is not the only spot close by, Spring Pond is a close by lake, and the Sockum                  Ridge Park Trail offers hiking at its best. Super 8 Motel - Washington is a great spot to get some rest; why not take a little trip to Burr Oak Creek while you're here. There are plenty of people from Iowa City here at Horse Shoe Lake. For the period of the warmest time of the year at Horse Shoe Lake temperatures are regularly in the 80's. Summer overnight lows drop down to the 60's.
