Although they have not kept up on there playgroung equipment. Thats all and its not a big deal. I recomend going there a few more times. : This is the worst place I have seen. It used to be really nice up until last year. The ranger who runs it does not take care of it. They reserved spots for their family and they harassed my family the entire time. I do not recommend this place to any family looking to have fun. The warmest time of the year brings highs in the 80's to Hannen Lake, and through summer nights temperatures are in the 60's. The cold days of the winter come with highs in the 20's, and nighttime lows during the wintertime for Hannen Lake tend to be in the 0's. A good nearby hotel is Williamsburg, Iowa Days Inn, and an afternoon playing golf at Marengo Golf Club is always a delight. Hannen       Lake gets a typical amount of annual rain; June is when you get the most rain here; the driest month of the year is January. Since you might be in a lake visiting mood you can always explore nearby Lake Iowa, and there's some out of the ordinary stuff to distinguish at Hannen Lake Dam next to Hannen Lake. So much cool stuff to do here at Hannen Lake, too fine to be true. Lakes are delightful; South Amana Pond is a lake that's in close proximity to Hannen                  Lake. There's so much to do here at Hannen Lake that you need to camp here for a while, Hannen Park is a brilliant location for that. This lake is so wonderful.
