Whohoo, so many fun things in one place! Gates Lake is so good! Kingston Bar is a pleasant spot to pop by close to Gates Lake. Summertime at Gates Lake comes with high temperatures in the 80's. During the moonlight hours it's mostly in the 60's. During the winter highs are commonly in the 30's while the cold winter nights at Gates Lake are       in the 10's. This lake is so wonderful. Getting to Buffalo Slough from Gates Lake is easy, and dry warm beds await you at Howard Johnson Burlington. Camping is available at Lake Odessa Campground; not far from Gates Lake you'll stumble on Twin Ponds which is a lovely lake. Since you might be in a lake visiting mood you can always go to nearby Iowa Slough Lake, and if you came for an overnight stay 7 Ponds Park is a great location to camp.
