A wooded area in close proximity to Folsom Lake is West Oak Forest,       and do pay a visit to Lewis & Clark National Historic Trail since you're here at Folsom Lake. Pony Creek Lake is a nearby lake that you could visit; why not camp at Tomes Country Club Acres Park while you're here at Folsom Lake.
