Big Lake is a very beautiful lake in beautiful surroundings. Take a side journey to Richey Creek; if you came for an overnight stay Maple Lane RV Campground is a great spot to camp. Good hiking is available along the Sockum Ridge Park Trail, and dry warm beds await you at Riverside Casino & Golf Resort. From a rain point of view Big Lake is a quite typical location; the month with most of the rain is July; the driest month is February.

West Liberty Koa Kampground is a tremendous campground here, and if you need a location to stay Alexis Park Inn and Suites is a nice choice. There are plenty of folks from Muscatine here at Big Lake, and there are other locations here than Big Lake, for example Hills Lake.
