Waimea Reservoir is pretty arid mostly; the month with most of the rain is January while July is the month with the least amount of precipitation. Go for a hike on the Puako-Waimea Trail; at Waimea Reservoir you always meet someone from Hilo. This lake is so wonderful. It's a perfect idea to visit Alakahi Stream, it's near Waimea Reservoir; if you desire a little side visit, try Hauani       Gulch. Good hiking is available along the Kawaihae-Puu Hue Trail, and Waimea Country Lodge is a great location to get some rest. For the duration of the warmest time of the year here at Waimea Reservoir, high temperatures mostly reach the 80's with nighttime lows in the 70's. The cold days of the winter come with highs in the 70's; night lows in the 60's for Waimea Reservoir. There are good places to look at along the Waimanu Trail, and a great panorama of                  beautiful Haloa is available. This place, Waimea Reservoir, it clearly has so much outdoors cool stuff.
