     There are brilliant places to look at along the Kalapana Trail, and you can spend the day on the beach at Kamokuna. A great nearby hotel is Volcano Kilauea Accommodations; while you're here, you could also have a look at lovely Queens Bath. A large amount of rainfall falls at Waikupanaha Pond; November is the month that gets the most rain; the driest of the months is June. During your stay at Waikupanaha Pond do pop by close by Kalapana Beach, and if you need a  
   place to stay Hale Kakahi is a delightful choice.
Not enough hours in a day to enjoy this place. You'll find a pretty lake called Waiaka Pond near Waikupanaha Pond; there's great hiking along the Napau Crater Trail. Hawaii Volcanoes National Park is one of the destinations in the vicinity of Waikupanaha Pond that are fine to go to. This lake is so wonderful. Taking a little trip to nearby Kii is a nice idea, and don't leave Waikupanaha Pond without first going
 
               for a hike along the Naulu Trail.
Summertime brings highs in the 80's to Waikupanaha Pond. Summer overnight lows descend down to the 60's. Highs during the winter are mostly in the 70's with temperatures at Waikupanaha Pond dipping down into the 60's during winter nights.
