Going for a hike along the Puu Oo Volcano Trail will let you absorb the natural beauty of this neighborhood, and Volcano House is a magnificent place to get some rest. During your trip to Waikoloa Ponds you'll meet some folks from Hilo for sure; while you're here you can take a hike along the Mauna Kea Umikoa Trail. High temperatures at Waikoloa Ponds through the warm days of summer are in the 80's       with night lows in the 60's. The winter comes with highs in the 70's, and night lows in the 60's for Waikoloa Ponds. You'll find a pretty lake called Lake Waiau near Waikoloa Ponds; if you need a site to stay Inn at Kulaniapia is a great choice. So much entertaining stuff to do at Waikoloa Ponds, so little time. Waikoloa Ponds is a splendid place to visit for more than one day, Nmakanipaio Campground is a splendid place to camp nearby. A typical amount                  of rain falls here at Waikoloa Ponds; January is the wettest month with most rain, and June is when it's the driest. This lake is so wonderful.
