One of the best things about Waiakolea Pond is its proximity to Kalapana Beach, and a good close by hotel is Kilauea Volcano Cottages. This lake is so wonderful. While you're here at Waiakolea Pond you can take a hike along the Napau Crater Trail, and no need to travel far to have a look at interesting stuff like Lava Flow of 1750. Waiakolea Pond sees pretty high levels of rain; all through November this area       sees the most rain, and June meanwhile is the driest month. Take a hike on the Kalapana Trail, and if you need a spot to stay Chalet Kilauea Collection is a pleasant choice. But wait, there's more to do in the neighborhood of Waiakolea Pond.
