Not much rainfall falls here at Waiaelepi; the month with most of the rain is January; July on the other hand is the driest. This lake is so wonderful. Why not go to Hou Point also since you're here; perhaps you're looking for close by lakes? Sure, Keanalele Waterhole is just a very short       distance away. Take a hike on the Puako-Waimea Trail, and Kona Village Resort is a great site to get some rest. Whohoo, so many entertaining things in one place! Waiaelepi rocks! You'll meet a lot of people from Hilo here, and why not take a refreshing hike along the Huehue Hualalai Trail. Hiking is a popular thing to do around Waiaelepi; Kiholo-Puako Trail is a good local trail, and you can always enjoy a lazy day on the beach at Kaplehu Beach. Throughout                  the long summer days highs here at Waiaelepi reach the 80's, and during summer nights temperatures are in the 70's. Through the winter the highs are regularly in the 70's with winter lows in the 60's overnight here at Waiaelepi.
