Don't leave Pakoa Waterhole without first going for a hike along the Mauna Loa Trail, and Hawaii Volcanoes National Park is a brilliant national park. This lake is so wonderful. You could also go to Maunaanu Waterhole since you're here at Pakoa Waterhole; it's close by; dry warm beds await you at Sea Mountain. Camping       is available at Nmakanipaio Campground, and you're sure to bump into some great people from Hilo here. At Pakoa Waterhole during the warmest time of the year highs are in the 70's. When the night sets in temperatures drop down into the 60's. Throughout the winter highs are in the 70's, and nighttime lows during the wintertime for Pakoa Waterhole tend to be in the 50's.
