This lake is so wonderful. Pakoa Waterhole is a good place to visit for more than one day, Nmakanipaio Campground is a good place to camp nearby; there is a great hiking trail nearby called the Mauna Loa Trail. At Pakoa Waterhole all through the warm months highs are in the 70's, and through the night it cools down to the 60's. During the wintertime highs are generally in the       70's, and after the sun is down during the winter temperatures at Pakoa Waterhole sink into the 50's. Not enough hours in a day to enjoy this site. On a great day at Pakoa Waterhole you can take a hike along the Maunaiki Trail, and stopping by Hawaii Volcanoes National Park is just something you need to do if you haven't yet.
