Go for a hike on the Mauna Kea Umikoa Trail, and Inn at Kulaniapia is a great spot to get some rest. This lake is so wonderful. A wooded region near Paeoopu Pool is Manowaialee Forest Reserve; going for a hike on the Waipunalei Trail is always a good adventure. There are great sites to look at along the Maulua Trail, and if you need a location to stay Palms Cliff House Inn is a wonderful       choice. The high level of precipitation makes Paeoopu Pool a pretty wet place; the month with most of the rain is April, and June on the other hand is the driest. Through the months of summer at Paeoopu Pool temperatures are frequently in the 80's, and during summer nights temperatures are in the 60's.
