Mauoni is a lake worth visiting. After a long day outdoors Island Sands Resort is a tremendous site to spend a night or two, and of course, A tour to Kalialinui Gulch is always fun. A fine spot to camp here at Mauoni is Camp Olowalu; camping is available at Hosmer Grove Campground. Mauoni sees pretty high levels of rainfall; all through January this area sees the most rain, and the driest month is June.

A good beach in the vicinity of Mauoni is Paukukalo Beach, and do pay a visit to Haleakala National Park while you're here at Mauoni.

Golf Club. All through the summer months at Mauoni highs are mostly in the 80's, and through the night it cools down to the 60's. Highs during the winter are mostly in the 80's, and throughout the dark hours in the wintertime at Mauoni
temperatures descend to the 60's. Do schedule some time to stop at Hobron Point in the vicinity of Mauoni if you have a chance, and if you're interested in hydro structures, you can check out Kahului Harbor.
