Maunaanu Waterhole is a very beautiful lake in beautiful surroundings. If time allows, Hawaii Volcanoes National Park is a national park worth visiting, and Kilauea Volcano Cottages is a good place to get some rest. This lake is so wonderful. There are good places to discover along the Ainap Trail, and camping at Nmakanipaio Campground is always a good experience. During the days of summer here at Maunaanu Waterhole, high temperatures ordinarily reach the 70's

| | while night lows are regularly in the 60's. High temperatures during the winter are normally in the 70's with winter lows in the 50's overnight here at Maunaanu Waterhole. Go for a hike on the Maunaiki Trail. Good hiking is available along the Mauna Loa Trail, and if you need a location to stay Chalet Kilauea Collection is a delightful choice. An average amount of rainfall falls at Maunaanu Waterhole; the month of March is the wettest with most of the rain, and the driest month of the year is November.
