Nualolo Kai Beach is a beach right next door to Lua Reservoir that you can stop at, and a wooded area nearby is Puukapele Forest Reserve. This lake is so wonderful. Going for a hike on the Nualolo Trail is always a wonderful adventure; nearby you hit upon Kaanamahuna Valley which is a nice place to stop by. People from Kapaa love to come to Lua Reservoir; get yourself into a kayak       and hit Hanalei. Lua Reservoir is pretty dried out usually; January is when you get the most rain here while July is the month with the least amount of precipitation. If only every site had this much outdoors entertaining stuff, what a great earth it would be. A pleasant close by hotel is Aston Waimea Plantation Cottages, and a delightful lake like Kitano Reservoir is a great place to pop by. A good beach near Lua Reservoir is Milolii Beach, and you'll locate                  a striking lake called Puupae Reservoir. Don't leave Lua Reservoir without first going for a hike along the Kalalau Trail; don't forget to take a tremendous little visit to Halemanu Stream. There are nice places to look at along the Alakai Swamp Trail; one of the main traits of the surroundings of Lua Reservoir is Halemanu. And if that's not enough, there's lots more to do near Lua Reservoir. The warmest time of the year brings highs in the 80's to Lua Reservoir, and all through the night it cools down to the 60's. During the winter this place gets highs in the 80's with winter lows in the 60's overnight here at Lua Reservoir. This lake is so wonderful.
