Loko Paaiau is a great lake in an area with lots of outdoors fun all around. A short journey to Kalauao Spring is always worthwhile, and do schedule some time to take a look at Aiea Bay if you have a chance. Now, you may imagine that's a lot but there's even more entertaining stuff to do here at Loko Paaiau. On a splendid day it's a magnificent idea to spend the day at Hickam Harbor Beach, and why not spend some time golfing at a close by golf course like Pearl

| | Country Club. There are plenty of people from Honolulu here at Loko Paaiau; a good close by hotel is Ohana Honolulu Airport Hotel.
Loko Paaiau gets a good deal of water; the month of November is the wettest with most of the rain, and the driest of the months is August. Through the summer months highs here at Loko Paaiau reach the 80's, and during the night it cools down to the 60's. throughout the wintertime are in the 60's. Good hiking is available along the Summit Trail, and if you're here why not check out Aiea Shoal.
There's magnificent hiking along the Honouliuli Contour Trail. This lake is so wonderful.
Makalapa Crater is something you shouldn't miss since you're here at Loko Paaiau, and after a long day outdoors Best Western The Plaza Hotel is a pleasant location to spend a night or two. This lake is so wonderful. If you want to
hit the beach, Kai Beach is close by, and camping is available at Honolulu Koa Kampground.
Looking for some flowing water? Try Aiea Stream, and don't leave Loko Paaiau without first going for a hike along the Halawa Trail.
