Kauhioaiakini Pond is a great lake in an area with lots of outdoors fun all around. Not sufficient hours in a day to enjoy this place. Going for a hike on the Lower Trail is always a magnificent adventure, and Puu Olai Beach is quite nearby if you're in a beach type of mood. Taking a little trip to nearby Ahihi Bay is a fine idea; not far from Kauhioaiakini Pond you'll stumble on Halua Pond which is a beautiful lake. This lake is so wonderful. People from Kahului-Wailuku

Go for a hike on the Halemauu Trail, and after a long day outdoors Maui Prince Hotel Makena Resort is a perfect location to spend a night or two. All the water falling down from the sky makes Kauhioaiakini Pond a wet place; the month with most of the rain is January; the driest month is September. If you want to hit the beach, Oneloa Beach is in the vicinity; here at Kauhioaiakini Pond you can observe Kalua o Lapa.

At Kauhioaiakini Pond all through the months of summer highs are in the 80's; during summer nights temperatures are in the 60's. Highs through the wintertime are ordinarily in the 80's, and after the sun is down all through the wintertime
temperatures at Kauhioaiakini Pond plunge into the 60's. If you came to camp Hosmer Grove Campground is a pleasant spot to do that, and Haleakala National Park is a great local destination. This lake is so wonderful. There are brilliant spots to discover along the Sliding Sands Trail, and dry warm beds await you at Polo Beach Club.
