Camping is available at Nmakanipaio Campground, and going for a hike on the Kau Desert Trail is always a great adventure. Gulch is a nice place to check out. Summertime at Kaopapawai Waterhole arrives with high temperatures in the 50's. Summer night lows sink down to the 30's. Through the wintertime highs are mostly in the 40's while the cold winter nights at Kaopapawai Waterhole are in the 30's.
