    Go to Kaopapawai Waterhole if you want to go to a nice lake. Do set aside some time for Keakapulu Flat if you're here at Kaopapawai Waterhole; do pay a visit to Hawaii Volcanoes National Park if you're here at Kaopapawai Waterhole. Kaopapawai Waterhole is pretty waterless usually; April is the wettest month with most rain while June is ordinarily the driest month. If only every location had this much outdoors cool things, what a great earth it would be. If you  
   need a site to stay Chalet Kilauea Collection is a wonderful choice; there is a great hiking trail close by called the Maunaiki Trail.
This lake is so wonderful. Camping is available at Nmakanipaio Campground, and going for a hike on the Kau Desert Trail is always a great adventure. Go for a hike on the Ainap Trail, and after a long day outdoors Sea Mountain is a good site to spend a night or two. At Kaopapawai Waterhole you can see Puu Pili, and Klauea
 
               Gulch is a nice place to check out.
Summertime at Kaopapawai Waterhole arrives with high temperatures in the 50's. Summer night lows sink down to the 30's. Through the wintertime highs are mostly in the 40's while the cold winter nights at Kaopapawai Waterhole are in the 30's.
