There is a magnificent hiking trail near Hualala Reservoir called the Alakai Swamp Trail, and on a magnificent day you can take a hike along the Mhihi Waialae Trail. This lake is so wonderful. Golf can be played at Kukuiolono Golf; while here here do check out close by Palama Beach. Be careful coming to Hualala Reservoir, you might not ever wanna return home again. Hualala Reservoir is pretty dried out generally; most       of the rain falls through January, and June is when it's the driest. There's just no way anyone can get bored here at Hualala Reservoir. If you need a place to stay Club Intrawest - Kauai is a great choice; you simply must go to Nmilu Cone if you're here at Hualala Reservoir. Poipu Kai Resort is a nice location to get some rest, and lots of folks from Kapaa come here. At Hualala Reservoir you can make out Ioleau, and if you get bored of Hualala Reservoir you                  could also check out nearby Aepo Reservoir. Take a side trip to Lawai Stream; Kalaheo Gulch is another good place to stop at close by. This lake is so wonderful. Time spent at Secret Beach near Hualala Reservoir is always tremendous, and you should visit Ka Lae o Kaiwa when you're here. Get your pulse rate up on the perfect whitewater of Hanalei; close by you come across the Nualolo Trail which is a magnificent hiking trail. Summer brings highs in the 80's to Hualala Reservoir with night lows in the 60's.
