Alapena Pool is a very beautiful lake in beautiful surroundings. Good hiking is available along the Summit Trail, and if you need a place to stay Pagoda Hotel is a brilliant choice. This is no spot for people who don’t like to have fun. A cool spot to pop by close to Alapena Pool is Punchbowl, and nearby Kalihi Valley is a glorious location to go. Summertime highs at Alapena Pool frequently tend to be in the 80's, and through the night it cools down to the 60's.

Kamanaiki Stream is in the vicinity of Alapena Pool and is always a joy to check out; Alapena Pool is nice enough to spend more than a day at, Camp Timberline is a nice local campground. do put some time aside to spend at Booth Spring since you're here at Alapena Pool. Here at Alapena Pool there are plenty of people from Honolulu, and dry warm beds await you at Aston At The Executive Centre Hotel.
If you go for
the outdoors, you'll like Alapena Pool. While you're here at Alapena Pool you can play some golf at Ala Wai Golf Course, and if you've had enough of Alapena Pool, Kapena Pool is close by. Alapena Pool sees pretty high levels of rainfall;
through the month of November you get the most rain around here, and August is when it's the driest.
Don't leave Alapena Pool without first going for a hike along the Halawa Trail. There's so much to do here at Alapena Pool that
you need to camp here for a while, Honolulu Koa Kampground is a good place for that. Puu Kakea is clearly visible from Alapena Pool, and you're probably hooked on lakes, Kalihi Reservoir is one of those nearby. This lake is so wonderful.
Hiking is a popular thing to do around Alapena Pool; Castle Trail is a great local trail, and on a lovely day you can check out Kahanamoku Beach.
