Whitewater paddling is not for everyone but if it's for you then we recommend Cartecay River; why not take a refreshing hike along the Tearbritches Trail. Through the warm months, highs typically are in the 80's at Young Lake, and the nighttime is a tad colder of course, ordinarily in the 60's. For the duration of the winter the highs are regularly in the 40's while Young Lake night       low temperatures through the winter are in the 20's. Young Lake is a rather wet place frequently with a large amount of rainfall; March is when you get the most rain here; the driest of the months is October. This lake is so wonderful. Young Lake is right by the Benton McKaye Trail, and if you need a place to stay Comfort Inn & Suites is a great choice. All the outdoors fun things in the Great Smoky Mountains will keep you coming back again and again. Bushy Head                  Mountain is clearly visible from Young Lake, and there's some interesting stuff to distinguish at Young Lake Dam close to Young Lake. You just can't imagine the amount of outdoors enjoyable stuff the area close to Young Lake has to offer. Blue Ridge - Days Inn is a good spot to get some rest; camping at Young Lake is great fun, Blue Ridge Campground is a great local campground. Not enough hours in a day to enjoy the Great Smoky Mountains. You'll discover a scenic lake called Carrol Lake near Young Lake, and why not camp at Lake Blue Ridge Campground since you're here at Young Lake. Nearby Bushy Head Gap is a brilliant place to go if you're at Young Lake; do take a hike on the South Fork Trail. The Great Smoky Mountains scenery is always beautiful. This lake is so wonderful.
