Woody Lake Dam gets lots of water; of all the months in a year March is the one with the most rain while October is the month with the least       amount of precipitation. This lake is so wonderful. In case you don’t mind getting covered with water, you can always go whitewater paddling on Cooper Creek, and there are good sites to explore along the DeSoto Falls Trail. This lake is located in the wonderful Blue Ridge Mountains. There's always Woody Lake Dam to pop by near Woody Lake Dam, and you could always look at Gooch Gap. At Woody Lake Dam through the summer highs are in the 80's; the overnight                  is rather colder of course, frequently in the 60's. The wintertime comes with highs in the 40's, and nighttime lows in the 20's for Woody Lake Dam. There's just no way somebody can get bored here at Woody Lake Dam. Going for a hike on the Duncan Ridge Trail is always a good adventure, and if you're here, you could stop by Baker Branch. This lake is so wonderful. Lakes? Sure, Gooch Lake is around here, and close by you stumble on the Black Mountain Trail which is a good hiking trail. After a long day outdoors Super 8 Motel - Dahlonega is a splendid site to spend a night or two, and if you came to camp Woody Gap Campground is a perfect spot to do that. Be careful coming to Woody Lake Dam, you might not ever wanna go back home again. Just can't get enough of the Blue Ridge Mountains. Since you might be in a lake visiting mood you can always check out nearby Woody Lake, and whitewater paddling is brilliant on Blood Mountain Creek.
