Good hiking is available along the Twin Bridges Trail. Lakes? Sure, Bruce Lake is nearby. For the period of the summertime at Wilson Lake temperatures are commonly in the 80's. Throughout the moonlight hours it's typically in the 60's. For the period of the winter highs are regularly in the 50's, and winter nights come with lows in the 30's to Wilson Lake. Glide down the rapids of Little River in a kayak, and Hill Lake is a perfect lake nearby. Get wet paddling

| | on Apalachee River, and there's magnificent hiking along the Mounds Trail. This lake is so wonderful. Don't leave Wilson Lake without first going for a hike along the Scull Shoals Trail, and great water scenery is available at Wilson Lake Dam near Wilson Lake. Wilson Lake ordinarily gets lots of rain; throughout the month of March you get the most rain around here, and the driest of the months is September. This lake is so wonderful. Why not camp at | |

US Forestry Department since you're here at Wilson Lake; Hampton Inn Madison is a tremendous place to get some rest. This place rocks, just look at all the exciting stuff to do near Wilson Lake. If you need a place to stay SUPER 8 MOTEL - MADISON is a great choice, and a fine location to camp here at Wilson Lake is Talisman Campark.

Twin Bridges Trail
 | 17 miles away The Twin Bridges Trail is a bit strenuous and half of it is along the lake. It ends near a hunting camp where trash is dumped by campers. I really wish the trail were longer. USFS needs to consider walk-in camping with a parking area to require campers to walk 1/4 mile to the sites. The gate needs to be locked to the lakeside lots except for hunting season.... |
