It's always fun to stop by Wilkinsons Pond. There's so much to do here at Wilkinsons Pond that you need to camp here for a while, Heritage Mobile Home Community is a great place for that, and if you need a site to stay Red Carpet Inn Augusta is a glorious choice. This lake is so wonderful. You're probably hooked on lakes, Kissing Bower Lake is one of those close by; the wonderful people of Augusta-Richmond County like to hang out nearby. | | for folks who like lakes. Rosebud Lake is a lake in close proximity, and you can stay the night at Flynn's Inn Camping Village. There's some exciting stuff to make out at Rosedale Lake Dam right next door to Wilkinsons Pond; you can run the rapids of Savannah River. Hiking Trail is a glorious local trail. The warmest time of the year brings highs in the 90's to Wilkinsons Pond with night lows in the 60's. All through the winter highs are in the 50's with winter lows in the 30's overnight
here at Wilkinsons Pond. So many amusing things to do here at Wilkinsons Pond, too glorious to be true. An afternoon playing golf at Forest Hills Golf Club is always a delight; Econo Lodge Fort Gordon is a great spot to get some rest.

 | There are two open spillway dams between the Hwy 28 (Fury's Ferry) Bridge and I-20: Stevens Creek Dam (at the confluence of Stevens Creek) and the Augusta Canal Diversion Dam (about a mile downstream of Stevens Creek Dam). There are no marked access points immediately on either side of either dam. Georgia Power Co. operates an electric generating facility on the Georgia (south) bank at Stevens Creek. At the Canal, since the canal immediately parallels the river some twenty feet above it, there is no river access whatsoever on the Georgia side. Portage would be recommended along private land on the South Carolina side of both dams.... |
