All the water falling down from the sky makes Wilkerson Lake a wet location; the month of March is the wettest with most of the rain, and November is when it's the driest. This lake is so wonderful. Marcum Branch is close to Wilkerson Lake and is always a pleasure to go to, and there are plenty of people from Augusta-Richmond County here. If only every spot had this much outdoors amusing       stuff, what a great globe it would be. Camping at Heritage Mobile Home Community is always a fine experience. All through the warm months, highs ordinarily are in the 90's at Wilkerson Lake. Throughout the moonlight hours it's mostly in the 60's. During the winter the highs are regularly in the 50's while the cold winter nights at Wilkerson Lake are in the 30's. Wilkerson Lake is not the only site nearby, Maxwell Lake is a nearby lake, and after a long                  day outdoors Econo Lodge Martinez is a great spot to spend a night or two. Get dripping wet paddling on Savannah River, and Quality Inn Augusta is a fine spot to get some rest. Wilkerson Lake is pleasant enough to spend more than a day at, Byron Mobile Home and Camper is a pleasant local campground, and the Horn Creek Hiking Trail offers hiking at its best.   Quality Inn Augusta, Augusta 4 miles away 2 miles from Fort Gordon Main Gate.
