These mountains rock, just look at all the exciting things to do in the Blue Ridge Mountains. Cedar House Yurt Cabins is a tremendous campground nearby, and the scenery at Whitners Lake Dam is gorgeous. If you want a fine time in the great outdoors just come on up to the Blue Ridge Mountains. Some of the water close by flows, like Moose Creek, naturally you could also explore Rodgers Lake if you're       here; it's not far at all. Whitners Lake is a pleasant spot to visit for more than one day, R-Ranch in the Mountains is a pleasant spot to camp nearby, and going for a hike on the Black Mountain Trail is always a fine adventure. Much rain falls at Whitners Lake; the wettest month of the year is typically March, that's the one that rains the most, and the driest of the months is October. This lake is so wonderful. Through the months of summer at Whitners Lake highs are regularly in the 80's. Summer nighttime lows fall down to the 60's. The wintertime comes with highs in the 40's, and winter nights come with lows in the 20's to Whitners Lake. This lake is so wonderful. Go for a hike on the Whitly Gap Trail, and Super 8 Motel - Dahlonega is a nice location to get some rest. There are nice places to look at along the DeSoto Falls Trail, and a glorious spot to take a look at is Stonepile Gap. At Whitners Lake you can distinguish Three Sisters Mountain. You'll wish for more hours in a day to enjoy all the enjoyable things at Whitners Lake. Get drenched paddling on Chestatee River, and a splendid close by hotel is Econo Lodge Dahlonega.
