This lake is so wonderful. One of the main highlights of the surroundings of Whitmire Lake is Hog Mountain, and camping at Mossy Creek Campground is always a splendid experience. Through the summertime months here at Whitmire Lake, high temperatures generally reach the 80's with nighttime lows in the 60's. During the winter highs are in the 40's, and night lows at Whitmire       Lake during the wintertime commonly drop into the 20's. Whitmire Lake gets a good deal of water; of all the months in a year March is the one with the most rain while October is mostly the driest month. You can run the rapids of Flat Creek in close proximity to Whitmire Lake, and do take a hike on the Raven Cliff Falls Trail.
