     The beauty of Whispering Pines Lake attracts many people from all around. Going for a hike along the Chattooga Trail will let you absorb the natural beauty of this region, and Whispering Pines Lake is brilliant enough to spend more than a day at, Sunset Campground is a brilliant local campground. Having a brilliant time at Whispering Pines Lake is uncomplicated. Toccoa City Golf Course is a golf course right next door to Whispering Pines Lake, and while you're  
   here you can take a hike along the Bartram Trail. A splendid place for whitewater paddling close to Whispering Pines Lake is Big Panther Creek, and Ayers Pond is a nearby lake that you could go to.
This lake is so wonderful. The nice folks of Toccoa like to hang out close by, and Toccoa Days Inn is a good location to get some rest. For the duration of the summer at Whispering Pines Lake temperatures are commonly in the 80's, and during the night it cools
 
               down to the 60's. Highs during the wintertime are mostly in the 50's with temperatures at Whispering Pines Lake dipping down into the 20's through winter nights.
The high level of rainfall makes Whispering Pines Lake a pretty wet place; March is the month that gets the most rain while October is regularly the driest month. Get your heart beating on the good whitewater of Brasstown Creek, and a lake close by is North Fork Broad River. This lake is so wonderful. If you need a place to stay Knights Inn Toccoa is a good choice; if you came to camp Toccoa Rv Park & Campground is a delightful place to do that.

...es of heavy rainfall and original life of lake was projected to exceed 100 years. Silt accumulation after 20 years was approximately .5 inche. Normal elevation is apporximately 800'. Feeder streams maintain lake levels even during extended periods of insufficient rainfall and at the same time provide spill into the exiting stream bed.
The lake has been pulled down during periods of heavy construction of highways across the feeder streams to allow silt to return to the streams and pass thru thedrain gates.
Buena Vista Dr crosses the lake in two places; one being the main dam and again on the Coe Branch inlet. Original construction of dams accommodated these crossings.
Over the years sport fishing has been excellent with large mouth Bass, Crappie, Brem, Pike And Catfish, however fishing is limited due to private ownership of property including the lake basin.
The shorelines and surounding hills are populated with native hardwoods and pine, creating scenery which is unsurpassed in the area. Wild turkey, deer, beaver, groundhog,cayote, fox, rabbit and squirrel inhabit...

Hi!? I am looking for information.? Recently, I have been going thru old black and white photos that belong to my grandmother.? I have several dozen that are dated Easter Sunday, 1945 (April 1st).? I have being attempting determine the location where these pics were taken.? The only thing grandmother can remember is a name:? Panther Creek Park.? She thought it was somewhere around Corniela.? I found this web page while doing a search for it.? I have included some pics.? The most obvious feature in a lot of this photos is a round brick object that people seemed to spend a lot of time lounging around.? I don't know what to actually call it.? Is this the right park??...
