Float down the rapids of Yellow River in a kayak, and a fine place to camp here at Weaver Lake is Salem Campground. Just can't get enough of Weaver Lake. Visiting Overmountain Victory National Historic Trail is just something you need to do if you haven't yet; there are other places here than Weaver Lake, for example Smiths Lake. Don't forget to take a brilliant little spree to Boar Tusk Branch, and after a long day outdoors La Quinta Inn AND Suites Atlanta

| | Conyers is a great site to spend a night or two. Not far from Weaver Lake, you'll hit upon East View Lake which is a wonderful lake. The high level of rain makes Weaver Lake a relatively wet site; throughout March this area sees the most rain; October is the month with the least moisture. For the duration of the warm months here at Weaver Lake, high temperatures regularly reach the 80's. Once the sun is down it sinks down to the 60's. Daytime highs throughout | |

the winter are in the 40's with temperatures at Weaver Lake dipping down into the 20's through winter nights. Days Inn Conyers is a tremendous location to get some rest, and camping is available at Campwest Minster. This lake
is so wonderful. Why not pop by Weaver Lake Dam while you're here; playing golf is lots of fun at Cherokee Run Golf Course.

 | Putting in at Killian Hill Rd , the best white water is just down river from HWY 78 to the Yellow River Park. Beyond the park is unknown territory....Yellow river at Poterdale can get pretty tough after a good rain. Bring your A game!...water from 124 to porterdale is about 3 feet average in the summertime. lots of fun. easy river. clean too. lots of fallen trees in the water, great wildlife, snakes, turtles and fish. the dam in porterdale is easily passed adn the rapids following are verry shallow. email at coadydraven@yahoo.com with questions.... |
