You're sure to run into some wonderful folks from Cornelia here, and great water scenery is available at Waters Lake Dam in close proximity to Waters Lake. This lake is so wonderful. Campground, and while you're here, you might as well check out Bear Gap. Waters Lake is a beautiful lake in the Blue Ridge Mountains. Summertime highs at Waters Lake usually tend to be in the 80's. For the period of the moonlight
hours it's ordinarily in the 60's. During the winter highs are in the 40's, and night lows through the winter for Waters Lake tend to be in the 20's. If the weather is great here at Waters Lake, you can go for a hike along the Stewart
Trail. There's so much to do here at Waters Lake that you need to camp here for a while, Terrora Park Campground is a good spot for that. Have a wonderful hiking adventure along the Bartram Trail; swing by Fry Branch it's a great
spot to check out. Going for a hike along the Chattooga Trail will let you absorb the natural beauty of this area; whitewater paddling is not for everyone but if it's for you then, we recommend Big Panther Creek. You'll really
wish for more hours in a day to enjoy all the entertaining things in the Blue Ridge Mountains. Do explore Reservoir 34 near Waters Lake, it's a scenic lake, and after a long day outdoors Quality Inn & Suites Mt. Chalet is a magnificent
site to spend a night or two. If you love the outdoors you'll love it here in the Blue Ridge Mountains. There's no such thing as a bad day of skiing at nearby Scaly Mountain. So many exciting things close to Waters Lake, clearly
tremendous. For you golfers we recommend nearby Apple Mountain Golf Club, and there are some wonderful whitewater spots on Tallulah River.

 | 1 PHOTO Hi!? I am looking for information.? Recently, I have been going thru old black and white photos that belong to my grandmother.? I have several dozen that are dated Easter Sunday, 1945 (April 1st).? I have being attempting determine the location where these pics were taken.? The only thing grandmother can remember is a name:? Panther Creek Park.? She thought it was somewhere around Corniela.? I found this web page while doing a search for it.? I have included some pics.? The most obvious feature in a lot of this photos is a round brick object that people seemed to spend a lot of time lounging around.? I don't know what to actually call it.? Stonecypher Lake
 | 14 miles away ...mpson Stonecypher and was constructed in the mid 1950's. The shorelines are constant except in times of heavy rainfall and original life of lake was projected to exceed 100 years. Silt accumulation after 20 years was approximately .5 inche. Normal elevation is apporximately 800'. Feeder streams maintain lake levels even during extended periods of insufficient rainfall and at the same time provide spill into the exiting stream bed. The lake has been pulled down during periods of heavy construction of highways across the feeder streams to allow silt to return to the streams and pass thru thedrain gates. Buena Vista Dr crosses the lake in two places; one being the main dam and again on the Coe Branch inlet. Original construction of dams accommodated these crossings. Over the years sport fishing has been excellent with large mouth Bass, Crappie, Brem, Pike And Catfish, however fishing is limited due to private ownership of property including the lake basin.
