The Okefenokee Wilderness Canoe Trail offers hiking at its best, and you can stay the night at Ridley's Chenille and Trailer. During the summer months at Walter Lakes temperatures are ordinarily in the 90's. During the moonlight hours it's frequently in the 60's. The cold days of the winter come with highs in the 60's while Walter Lakes night low temperatures all through the wintertime       are in the 40's. A wonderful lake like Big Lake close to Walter Lakes is a splendid place to explore; Traders Hill Recreation Area is a splendid campground here. A pleasant close by hotel is Best Western Bradbury Inn & Suites. Walter Lakes sees pretty high levels of rainfall; the month with most of the rain is August, and October on the other hand is the driest.
