Go for a hike on the Ocmulgee River Trail, and after a long day outdoors Comfort Inn & Suites is a wonderful place to spend a night or two. The high level of rainfall makes Walker-Laney Lake a pretty wet site; the wettest month of the year is regularly March, that's the one that rains the most; the driest month is October. This lake is so wonderful. Marshal Creek is a charming stream       that is worth a visit, and there's whitewater on Little River for all you adrenaline junkies. The views at Ocmulgee National Monument will blow your mind; why not go to Walker-Laney Dam if you're here. If you want a nice time in the great outdoors, just come on down to Walker-Laney Lake. Going for a hike on the Twin Bridges Trail is always a nice adventure. You'll need more than a day to explore everything Walker-Laney Lake has to offer, you can camp at                  Church Campground. If you get bored of Walker-Laney Lake, you could also stop at close by Hillsboro Lake, and nearby you discover the Allison Lake Wildlife Trail which is a splendid hiking trail. A pleasant nearby hotel is Gray Days Inn; you'll probably meet some folks from Macon here. This lake is so wonderful. For the duration of the warm months highs here at Walker-Laney Lake reach the 80's, and all through the night it cools down to the 60's.
