Walker Dam is an out of the ordinary thing to check out, and camping at Walker Lake is magnificent fun, Flat Rock Campground is a magnificent local campground. The high level of rainfall makes Walker Lake a relatively wet spot; through the month of March you get the most rain around here; the driest of the months is September. A delightful nearby hotel is Hampton Inn; whitewater       paddling is not for everybody but if it's for you then, we recommend Whooping Creek. This lake is so wonderful. At Walker Lake throughout the summer months highs are in the 80's with overnight lows in the 60's.
