Vason Lake is a good place to visit for more than one day, US Forestry Department is a good place to camp nearby. Lakes are fine; Lynch Lake is a lake that's right next door to Vason Lake. Just can't get enough of Vason Lake. You don’t have to go far from Vason Lake to make out the water at Vason Dam, and whitewater paddling is magnificent on Hard Labor Creek. Good hiking is available along the Twin Bridges Trail, and since you might be in a lake visiting

| | mood you can always have a look at close by Hilsman Lake North. Little River has a tremendous whitewater paddling spot close by.
For the period of the warmest time of the year, highs typically are in the 80's at Vason Lake. All through the dark hours of summer temperatures dip down into the 60's. Twin Bridges Trail

The Twin Bridges Trail is a bit strenuous and half of it is along the lake. It ends near a hunting camp where trash is dumped by campers. I really wish the trail were longer. USFS needs to consider walk-in camping with a parking area to require campers to walk 1/4 mile to the sites. The gate needs to be locked to the lakeside lots except for hunting season.... |
