Lots of rain falls at Upper Lake; during the month of March you get the most rain around here; October is when it's the driest. This lake is so wonderful. A pleasant place for whitewater paddling near Upper Lake is Allen Creek, and do stop by Upper Lake Dam since you're here. It's always good to explore Marble Spring; Lowe       Branch is one of the streams nearby that might be worth a visit. Be careful coming to Upper Lake, you might not ever wanna return home again. There are plenty of folks from Summerville here at Upper Lake; a great close by hotel is Howard Johnson Express Inn Rome. Since you're here at Upper Lake why not stop at Jenkins Gap, and lakes are such calm places, why not have a look at Lower Lake. Little River - East Fork is a great whitewater spot near Upper Lake.                  There's so much to do here at Upper Lake that you need to camp here for a while, Rome-floyd County Recreation is a good place for that. Summer brings highs in the 80's to Upper Lake while overnight lows are ordinarily in the 60's. The wintertime comes with highs in the 40's while the cold winter nights at Upper Lake are in the 20's. This lake is so wonderful. You'll need more than a day to explore everything Upper Lake has to offer, you can camp at James H.
